In 1975, Chen Tien-Ding founded TAILOU with a staff of eight and some 2000 m² of factory space. In the early stage, the factory was only involved in bolt processing. Two years later, TAILOU moved to its current 18000 m² site, with an increased workforce of 40 and 22 machines. With the increased capacity, the company started to produce specialized bolts for bicycle stems, brakes, axles, seat pillars and exercise equipment, as well as general bolts.
In 1989, a chromate treatment plant was added to the factory, and 1991 saw further expansion. As TAILOU began titanium bolt manufacture, new factory buildings were added to bring the number up to five, housing 40 employees and 19 machines. In 1995, TAILOU assembled seven automatic washer machines themselves, enabling alloy bolt and SUS 302 nut and bolt production. Two years later, following intensive research, screws for cranks, and suspen-multi-stroke machines. In addition to manufacturing various fasteners for bicycles, TAILOU is actively developing new products, such as hollow bolts (160 mm), pivots (M10), and hollow aluminum triple-layer bolts (M15), etc. For diverse business operation, all kinds of screws and parts for fitness equipment, medical equipment, and vehicles have been added to the production lineup.
